David William Kemper 62 of
Puyallup, WA passed away from Mantle Cell Lymphoma Cancer, Wednesday 2 July 2014 at home
attended by his family. David was born 4 February 1952 in Toppenish, Washington
to Theodore and Vera (Hargraves) Kemper of Moses Lake, WA. David married the love of his
life Laurie Belmont 20 August 2005 in the Columbia River LDS Temple. He served a mission for The LDS Church in
Minnesota from 1971 to 1973. He was an
Army Veteran. His time of service took
him and his family to Fort Cambell, KY and Erlangen, Germany. He had an Associates in Accounting and a
Bachelors in Business Administrations as well as Highest Honors in Business at
Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, WA.
He was employed by First Transit as a para-transit shuttle driver at the time of his passing.
David is survived by his spouse
Laurie of Puyallup, WA, his children Suelynn Jacobus of Bend, OR, Joseph Kemper
of Provo, UT , Dale Kemper of Moses Lake, WA and Jason Kemper of Provo, UT as
well as his step-daughter Christina Bias of Wenatchee, WA, five grandchildren
and four step-grandchildren. David is also survived by one brother and three sisters
Lora Jane Chappell of Soap Lake, WA, Jim Kemper of Moses Lake, WA, Mary Nelson
of Ephrata, WA and JoAnn Hellewell of Moses Lake, WA as well as numerous
nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother
Teddy Kemper of Moses Lake, WA.
David’s Interment Service will be conducted
by the United States Military Honor Guard at the Tahoma National Cemetery. There will be a Memorial service at The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Wednesday 9 July 2014 at 3:00 1015
13th St. SW Puyallup, WA 98371. Any donations can be sent to your local veteran’s
affairs or cancer research center.
The family greatly appreciates the
kindness and love of all who have helped during David’s 5 year battle with
cancer. He was strong and positive to
the end and a true missionary and servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
