"Mass Transit Modernized - Para-Transit Desegregated"

A bold new program designed to be more user
friendly for the passengers and more cost
effective for the service providers.  This bold
new program is also designed to reduce at least
some of the potential conflicts between the
rights of passengers and the rights of the
employees who work for the service providers.

While I do not pretend to be any kind of well-studied expert in the area of public transportation, I would ask that you remember that the Wright Brothers were not well-studied experts in the field of inventing the airplane, yet that's what they did.

With this series of articles, I am proposing a bold new program by which Mass Transit can be modernized and also by which Para-Transit can finally be desegregated.

Under current law, first written in connection with the 1990 American's With Disabilities Act, Para-Transit passengers (those with disabilities who are not able to use regular fixed-route services, are legally required to be transported on a totally separate service which the legislation calls, Para-Transit.

While the reason for this requirement back when this law was written and passed in 1990 was valid, because of the most current and reliable technology of that day, I believe current technology allows us to both modernize and fully desegregate all of mass transit.

In the sections that follow, I provide a fairly detailed, (and hopefully customer friendly) introduction to my proposed new program.

While I am not proposing myself as any kind of industry expert, I would suggest that the Wright Brothers would not have been able to show themselves as being experts in the field of inventing the airplane.  Yet they did, and I believe my program deserves to be considered.

Thank you for taking time to read my program.  Obviously, if I didn't believe in my own program, I would not have published it for others to read and ponder on.
