While I haven’t looked at all of the property tax assessment practices
of all of the different levels of government that assess them, the county where I live offers seniors and the disabled (who can qualify), the opportunity to have the property taxes they would normally pay reduced by a very significant amount.
This is a good thing for those who quality because it is an attempt to respect their limited income circumstances. It also creates challenges I will speak on next.
