Abortion and Politics: Proposing a Workable Solution

To be equally respectful of those whose sincerely held religious like beliefs oppose abortion, with the sincerely held religious like beliefs of those who support abortion, it seems to me that we only need to look for a way to "reasonably accommodate" both sides.

Those who support abortion should have a way to obtain a medically safe abortion.  Requiring them to have to submit to some illegal "back alley" medical procedure is not respectful.  At the same time, requiring those who oppose abortion to have to financially support the cost of providing this medical procedure (by way of tax dollars) to those who support it, is also not respectful.

So, what I am suggesting is that non-profit medical facilities be allowed to be set up for the purpose of allowing properly licensed doctors whose beliefs allow them to support the performance of an abortion to those seeking for an abortion.

These non-profit facilities, or clinics, would be financed by donations from their supporters and by way of whatever payments their patients could afford to provide.  The donations these clinics receive would be tax deductible the same as if they were donated to any other currently recognized charity or non-profit organization.

At the same time, the tax dollars collected from the general public, which includes taxes collected from those who sincerely oppose abortion, are not being used to finance the cost of something that violates their sincerely held position against abortion.

Thank you for taking time to read and ponder my opinion on this topic.
