Changing from Hidden to Transparent Taxes: Research Hidden Taxes Back at Least 20 Years

Because the economy has its ups and downs, or its good times and bad, collecting data for an extended number of years will give a better chance of having data that is from the really good times, the really bad times, as well as those times that fall in between.

I recommend at least 20 years worth of data be collected as part of the research.

In collecting this data, care should be taken to collect data that applies to each entity’s taxing authority area.  For example, a school district may not have the same taxing authority boundaries as the city it is associated with.  The same applies with public transportation taxing authorities.  They may include several cities within the same county, and may also include some unincorporated areas of the county that are not within any city limit boundaries.

Research Consumer Purchases for the same time period.

In addition to collecting the hidden tax data for each taxing authority, it is also important to collect the taxable consumer purchases for the same period of time, and broken down within the geographic boundaries of each taxing authority.

In the next topic section, I start to explain why this is needed.

Thank you for taking time to read and ponder my opinion on this topic.
