Transit Part 3: Special Event Bus

The Special Event Bus is for just what its name suggests.  When there is a county Fair, or the city of Tacoma, Washington has another Tall Ships Festival, or any other activity where a large number of passengers will be going to and from the same one event, a Special Event Bus will be put into operation for the specific purpose of taking large numbers of people between the Special Event and the Hub closest to it.
 In some cases, when a special event is located at approximately equal distance between more than one hub, and when passenger demand from each of those hubs is high enough, each Hub can have a Special Event Bus.

The purpose of a Special Event Bus is to limit the number of buses required to transport passengers to and from locations where special events are taking place.  The Special Event Bus routing concept can also be used to take large numbers of passengers between their place of work (such as Microsoft or Boeing), a major shopping mall, and the Hub that services their work address.

Special Event Bus routing allows the transit company to keep more of its buses and drivers available to other passengers in other parts of its overall service area.
