Transit Part 3: Extended Local Bus

There are two types of routes that an Extended Local Area Bus can be assigned to.  One is for times when there is an extra-large number of passengers going back and forth between the same two Hubs and when the local areas serviced by each hub share a common boarder.
The other is for use in the less populated portions of the area serviced by the transit company where longer routes requiring times longer than a half-hour are the only reasonable way to service the area.

For two hub routing, an Extended Local Area Bus would travel back and forth between the same two hubs.  The bus would pick up and drop off all passengers within its assigned extended service area.  Those who are not going to an address within the area serviced by the Extended Local Area Bus would be transferred at the first Hub the bus stops at after picking them up.

When an Extended Local Area Bus is servicing an outer portion of the service area, the route taken would be extended both by time and distance as needed to pick up and deliver passengers within the local area serviced by the one Hub they are working out of.  As the population of the outer service area grows and the number of transit passengers increase as measured on some type of passengers per square mile basis, the Extended Local Area Bus routes could be broken down into Local Area Bus routes and potentially also a new hub to service that newly developing area.

Thank you for taking time to read my program.  Obviously, if I didn't believe in my own program, I would not have published it for others to read and ponder on.

Therefore, we must either CHANGE the way we live, or we bind our future to our past as if with CHAINS.
