Transit Part 9: Winning Broad Public Support

I believe that for the most part, the American people are a very caring people.  I believe that, when they truly understand the need and reason for something, and can see it as a good thing, they will support it, even when it is a hard thing.
Getting them to see the need to support a major program change with its associated research, development, and startup costs will not be easy, but will be possible if approached from a respectful stand point.

Government, like it or not, is operated by elected politicians who hire and/or appoint people to various decision making positions.  Elected politicians aren’t going to agree to do anything that will hurt their chances of getting re-elected again.  Lobbyists are very powerful and, again, like it or not, are masters at getting their point of view seen as being the most preferred.  Winning the support of the general public should not be considered an easy task by any stretch of the imagination.  And getting those with money to donate for the purpose of helping cover development and startup costs without the support of the other areas is a laughable idea.
Thank you for taking time to read my program.  Obviously, if I didn't believe in my own program, I would not have published it for others to read and ponder on.

Therefore, we must either CHANGE the way we live, or we bind our future to our past as if with CHAINS.
