Consumers and Hidden Taxes: Transparent Taxes can Help the Neediest Members of Society

Transparent taxes can be designed by elected law makers to help the neediest members of society.

In Washington State, they have a transparent tax that is called a Sales Tax.  Washington State’s sales tax laws are written so that most food items purchased in grocery stores do not have a sales tax added.

In like manner, elected law makers have the potential to design the transparent tax laws of their respective areas of responsibility so that no transparent taxes are added to things like food, medical needs, housing, and other basic necessities which the neediest members of society struggle to have enough money to pay for.

Transparent Taxes would make it harder to take advantage of Consumers.

Hidden taxes make it easier to trick consumers into voting to increase the cost hidden taxes they don’t know they are paying, and cannot see.

Transparent taxes makes it easier for consumers to see and keep track of how much their current combined transparent taxes are that are being added on to their taxable consumer purchases.

Transparent Taxes would help lower the cost of basic needs so important to the poor.

How, you may ask, would transparent taxes help lower the cost of basic needs that are so important to the poor?  The answer is actually quite simple.
In previous topics I briefly spoke of how the cost of hidden taxes had to be included in the prices charge by business for the stuff they sell.  I spoke of how these hidden taxes force prices higher.

Well, if all hidden taxes were to come to an end, (speaking very hypothetically), then the prices business charge for the stuff they sell would be lower by the amount of the hidden taxes no longer included in the prices.

With this in mind, if elected law makers would designed their respective transparent tax laws so that no transparent taxes are added on to food and other basic necessities, then the neediest members of society would experience lower prices on those basic necessities, which would allow their money to go farther, and thus would genuinely help them.

Thank you for taking time to read and ponder my opinion on this topic.
