Transit Part 2: Tourist and Visitor Friendly Routing

Tourists, visitors, and out-of-town guests attending a business seminar generally are not all that familiar with where to go in a major metro area, or where to park at, and so forth.  While GPS devices and Apps are becoming more popular, they can also be a distraction while driving.  Any form of distracted driving is potentially dangerous, and creates potential frustrations for the driver.

Because my service is designed to provide the same “origin to destination” service for all passengers that is currently required of para-transit service providers, passengers on my service do not need to know where an address is, or how to get around.  The service takes care of that for them.  Within the para-transit industry as a whole, it is often called “door-to-door”

With more and more travel agencies providing their customers with the ability to schedule all of their travel needs online and ahead of time, it only seems reasonable that public transportation service providers should be able to use adaptations of the same technology to allow passengers to schedule their public transportation rides ahead of time.  It should even be possible for passengers (especially out-of-town passengers) to provide a picture so drivers can more easily recognize the person or people they are to be picking up.

Thank you for taking time to read my program.  Obviously, if I didn't believe in my own program, I would not have published it for others to read and ponder on.
