Transit Part 9: Listen to Your Employees

Employees need to be listened to for the same reasons that customers need to be listened to.  They also need to be kept informed of all that customers are told about.
Employees should receive the same briefing and information that customers are given.

Additionally, employees should be given additional information designed to help them understand the reason for specific policies.  Companies that operate from a standpoint of trusting their employees are more likely to receive trust in return.   Also, when employees understand and are able to agree that the company has a valid reason for a given rule, then employees are much more likely to be faithful to the rule.  And when those times occur where rigid obedience to the letter of the law doesn’t seem possible (because of all the gray areas life sends our way) employees who understand the reason for a rule or set of rules will often seek to find ways to accomplish the intent of the rule.

Cooperation always costs less than conflict and forced obedience.

Thank you for taking time to read my program.  Obviously, if I didn't believe in my own program, I would not have published it for others to read and ponder on.

It has been said that: "One definition of insanity is to do the same thing, the same way, over and over and over again, each time expecting to achieve a different result."
Therefore, we must either CHANGE the way we live, or we bind our future to our past as if with CHAINS.
