Transit Part 9: Summary of Public Benefits

Upon successful implementation of my program:

My program will be able to transport an average of more passengers per hour than under the current system.  This will allow para-transit service providers to transport more passengers with the same resources.  This will mean fewer buses adding to the volume of vehicles contributing to traffic congestion.

My program will help to reduce the average cost per passenger transported.  This will help to lower the amount of tax dollars needed from the general public to transport the disabled.  Because of the currently mandated “segregation” of the disabled from the balance of mass transit passengers, the desegregation my program will produce will also represent the potential for considerable savings in regular operational costs.

To the extent that my program helps to provide for better wages and benefits, better work schedules, and reduced turnover rate, the public will also have more experienced bus drivers in their area.  This will result in a higher standard of safety and professionalism for the disabled and for other vehicles operating in the service area.

Thank you for taking time to read my program.  Obviously, if I didn't believe in my own program, I would not have published it for others to read and ponder on.
